I've spent some time in New York and consider New York to be a singles paradise. New Yorkers are great. Easy to meet, easy to talk to and easy to... Well, let's just say New Yorkers aren't shy and they don't hold back. I'm not going to make any recommendations as the bars may well have changed since I was last in New York, so I'll ask New Yorkers to forward their favourite singles bars to me and I'll publish here.

I have also spent time in Washington DC, but I was in a relationship at the time, so that doesn't really count. However, It seemed to me that singles would have a great time in places such as Againns and Clydes bars. That's where I would head anyway...

Also, of course, we need information on Los Angeles, Las Vegas, more information on Washington DC and Boston and let us not forget Dallas... Okay, okay, enough already. Whatever city yopu live in, get in touch... We need information on every city in every State in the United States of America.

Meeting people is fun. It is also stressful for many as we all fear rejection. Some people have thicker skins than others. Many of my friends seemed to be able to walk up to girls with ease, whilst I would hover in the background trying to think of something clever to say. The girls I used to meet then were the girls who were also hanging in the background nervously whilst our friends flirted confidently. It was generally with the girls left on the side lines I would end up talking with because as our friends chatted, we both knew that we were supposed to talk to each other as well. Many of these situations were awkward as we soon discovered we had nothing in common, but now and then I'd meet a girl that way and form a genuine friendship and on a few occasions that friendship developed into something deeper.

However, most of the girls I have formed relationships with are girls and women I have met where I have known immediately 'she is special'. I have fallen head over heels in love three times in my life and each time the feeling has been reciprocated. Now, I long for the next time I meet someone where I immediately know, 'she is special'.
